Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves. Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, on Monday warned that the Caribbean will not have sustainable agriculture in any form unless it has a trained workforce that can use applied science and technology and be modern.
He sounded the warning at the opening ceremony of the 18th Caribbean Week of Agriculture which is being hosted in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with a focus on Climate Smart Agriculture for a Sustainable Future.
In a feature address delivered before a packed audience at The University of the West Indies Open Campus in Kingstown, the host Prime Minister of the five-day event also encouraged the Region to realise its strengths, weakness and possibilities as it aims for sustainable agriculture.
